My linguistic background and intercultural competence are undoubtedly valuable assets and part of my personality. But multilingualism alone does not make for a competent and qualified translator. Having obtained a master's degree in linguistics and a postgraduate degree in legal translation and court interpreting, I was fully qualified to be sworn in as a translator and interpreter by the authorities in Hamburg in 2010.
Extensive practical experience in interpreting and translating combined with my work as a university lecturer on legal translation have allowed me to strike the perfect balance between academic theory and professional practice. As a Legal English teacher at international law firms I am fully immersed in all subjects relevant to legal practice. As a member of the German Federal Association of Interpreters and Translators (BDÜ) I am part of a professional network.
Since being publicly appointed and sworn in as a translator I have specialised in the translation of legal documents. My clients include public authorities, notaries, law firms and courts. I qualified for this specialised work by completing a post-graduate degree course in legal translation and court interpreting, upon which I was sworn in by the Hamburg Ministry of the Interior and Sport.

I am fully proficient in all forms of interpreting (consecutive and simultaneous) and equally competent working in either language direction. Diligent preparation is an essential ingredient to a smooth translation. To this end, I immerse myself in the subject and terminology in the run-up to the event. Hourly or daily rates are agreed in advance for interpreting services.
